Desk Genie

Product: Desk Genie

Product: Desk Genie I had a conversation with a friend a few years back about her iPhone in the office. She was very annoyed that as phones have a habit of lying down, she wasn't able to see her screen unless she had at least one hand free. Of course mobile phone stands were available but they didn't do anything, and my friend was too geeky and too busy to be interested. I bet the Desk Genie is something that she would have liked.

Product: Desk Genie The Desk Genie has that bit of Geek Magic which can't help but appeal. The Desk Genie is black, seems solidly made, has multiple uses and is a bit more interesting than most mobile phone stands.. And what is it that makes the Desk Genie so special? It's the rather ingenious way it has of holding your phone. Rather than having arms to hold your phone in place, the Desk Genie uses a special kind of rubber which will remain eternally 'tacky'. As it doesn't use any kind of adhesive, there will be no sticky left on your phone, or your fingers (after you can't help but touch it).

Product: Desk Genie The lack of arms means that you can position your phone however you like! Upside down, vertical, horizontal, on an angle, with the screen facing down while your mother is calling.. The only enemy of the Desk Genie is dust! As the dust builds up, you will find the Desk Genie becomes less sticky. Even if it is against your religion to clean, this is one gadget which must be done regularly. Just water and a cloth will suffice.

Product: Desk Genie Other Clever things that the Desk Genie does:-

  • Easily connects to a PC, notebook or a Mac via USB
  • Can read a multitude of cards, including SD, MMC, RS MMC, Mini SD and more..
  • Has attachments so it can charge your iPod, Mp3/4, Mobile (eg: Samsung & Nokia), Smart Phones (eg: iPhone & Blackberry)
  • Looks large in appearance, but actually only takes up as much area on your desk as an iPhone lying down.

My only criticism of the Desk Genie is that it took several days for it to work properly, with me initially assuming I'd been sent a dud. Luckily it wasn't, so 9/10
